India - Today feels like the big day. I’m going to visit the Taj Mahal, one of the seven new wonders of the world. When I open the curtain in my hotel room, unfortunately, I see a cloudy sky. It even looks like it rained last night. Nevertheless, I want to be at the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Harry picks me up at half past five and takes me to the mausoleum. Amen also joins. Amen introduces himself as today’s guide. Amen arranges my ticket and explains that bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the Taj Mahal. With only my camera and a raincoat, I enter the Taj Mahal via the East Gate a little later. As I walk under the gate, I see the eighty-meter-high building. Wow! Amen wants to tell me many things, but first, I take pictures of the Taj Mahal and its reflection in the water. It is still relatively quiet now. As I get closer, the Taj Mahal becomes more beautiful. I walk onto the white marble platform. I now see the Taj Mahal from below. A magnificent sight. Through the entrance door, I enter the mausoleum. The entire building is made of white marble. The decorations are inlaid with various colored gemstones. The whole structure is symmetrical in four directions. Years were spent working on the intricate white marble windows—a masterpiece. Right in the center under the high dome lies the tomb of Shah Jahan’s wife. Shah Jahan’s own tomb was placed next to hers later.
