Costa_Rica - Twilight is falling as I approach the village of La Fortuna. In Fortuna itself, there is not much to do except that it is located at the foot of the Arenal volcano. This active volcano in Costa Rica rumbles softly daily. The Arenal occasionally spits out excess rocks over the volcano’s rim. These stones are orange-colored from the heat and roll down the mountainside without posing immediate danger. In the past, this happened on the village side. Several luxury hotels appeared at the foot of the mountain so guests could enjoy the natural spectacle from the pool. But the volcano does not tolerate being trifled with. For several years now, and completely unexpectedly, the volcano has been spitting on the other side. We stop at a bridge via a narrow road. From here, I see the bright orange rocks rolling down the mountain. Amazing.
