Uganda - The weather is beautiful, with clear visibility. A good breakfast is ready—a solid base for today’s hike along the waterfalls. Two guides accompany us: Moses and Tonio. We walk over the mountainsides in two groups: a faster group and a slower group. I take a bamboo walking stick for the slippery sections. We pass the first waterfall from above. Then we descend along the rock face to a nice viewing point in front of the waterfall. We climb back up and pause at the base of the second waterfall. At the second waterfall, we enter a cave behind the waterfall. Two streams of water crash down. The sun shines through the falling water—impressive! We climb further to the top of this waterfall. The path is narrow and steep. At the top, there is a chance to swim. Tonio advises against it. The water level is too high. I also did not bring swim shoes and estimate I would need them here. We continue to the base of the third and highest waterfall. A beautiful rainbow forms in the splashing water. Through several mountain villages, we descend about 200 meters above Sipi Village.
