Denmark - Nyhavn, or New Harbor, was dug in Copenhagen in 1673 on the orders of Christian V. The oldest houses here date from that time. The most famous resident was the Danish poet and writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875), who lived at house no. 20 for five years starting in 1834. In summer, the area is full of terraces, but even when it’s colder, with the number of cafés and restaurants in this district, you certainly won’t miss out. Nyhavn is the symbol of Copenhagen. The old warehouses have been renovated, and hotels, restaurants, and design centers have arisen within them. The old harbor has many places where you can stay out late. Especially in the northern part of the harbor, you can sit beautifully on a terrace among the old sea ships and the colorful houses. The "anchor monument" at the corner of Kongens Nytorv commemorates 1600 Danish sailors who died during World War II.
