Jamaica - Tucked deep into the mountains of Jamaica lies the birthplace and final resting place of one of the greatest musicians of all time: Bob Marley. Robert Nesta (Bob) Marley was a Jamaican reggae artist. He is also known as The King of Reggae. He played a major role in popularizing reggae beyond Jamaica and was an important advocate for the Rastafari faith. Marley died in 1981. A tour of the Bob Marley Center takes you through his former home and shows the bedroom where he slept and wrote his music. It also showcases scenes from his youth, like fetching water from the nearby pool. The tour ends with a visit to the mausoleum. Photos are not allowed here. It’s a short but powerful tour—well worth it, especially for fans.
