Ireland - Guinness Storehouse in Dublin is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland and offers an extensive experience centred around the world-famous stout beer Guinness. The building itself is a former fermentation facility of the Guinness brewery, located on the grounds of the historic St. James’s Gate Brewery, where beer has been brewed since 1759. In 2000, the old industrial space was transformed into a modern visitor centre that brings to life the history, brewing process, and culture of Guinness. The Guinness Storehouse is built around a huge glass atrium shaped like a pint glass. This central space consists of seven floors, each dedicated to a different aspect of the beer: from ingredients such as water, barley, and hops to the art of brewing, marketing, and export. Visitors can explore interactive exhibitions and learn how Guinness grew into a global brand. One of the highlights is the “Tasting Experience,” where visitors discover how to recognise the distinctive flavours of Guinness. This is often followed by a visit to the Gravity Bar on the top floor. From this bar, guests enjoy panoramic views over Dublin while drinking a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. In addition to the technical and historical explanations, the Storehouse also highlights the brand’s famous advertising campaigns and cultural heritage, which is deeply intertwined with Irish identity. Today, the Guinness Storehouse is not only a museum but also a vibrant experience that attracts millions of visitors each year. It combines industry, history, and hospitality, offering a unique insight into one of Ireland’s most iconic export products.
